Our Mission
We are a bike group whose aim is to educate and promote the use of bicycles around the UCF area. We do this by encouraging anyone and everyone to ride their bike. We would like people to feel there is a community of people out there who can support them and help them with any of their bicycle related questions. Our main Goals are this:
- Work as a communication link between the students of UCF and the administration to accommodate bicyclists on campus. Many people find that they do not know where to go with complaints or suggestions regarding bicycle inquiries on campus. Spokes Council will deliver your message to the proper people.
- Provide know how on bicycle maintenance and repair. Whether it's changing a tube (easy) or working on a bottom bracket (hard), we have years of experience. We have the bike tools that most riders don't and provide a workspace for all to come and work on their bike.
- Offer weekly rides to instruct riders on proper techniques for safe road and trail riding. The rides are slow and a great way to get to know people. Plus the ride ends at Lazy Moon for pizza and beer! Pizza and beer!
We hope to accomplish this by getting people involved in our mission and spreading the good word. We promote good bicycle etiquette and proper safety while riding your bike. If you need people to ride with we can offer that to you too as we are always riding our bikes to and from most location in the UCF area. We encourage anyone to get involved! just remember 2>4.
